It totally was Gerry Dee from "The Last Comic Standing". I didn't have much time to talk to him since our flight was about to board and I didn't want to interrupt his lunch with his family so I told him how funny I thought he was and enjoyed him on the show hoping he would win and went on my way. Just goes to show you some of the interesting people you miss out on if you don't follow your gut and go out of your comfort zone at times to try and meet new people.
Me and Gerry Dee . . .
Thursday, September 20, 2007
So, me and my buddies Andy and Tim were just finishing our lunch at the LAX airport's California Pizza Kitchen when as we're walking out I thought I saw one of the comics from the TV show "The Last Comic Standing". Doing what I sometimes will do, I questioned myself and said "No way that's not him but it really looks like him." We walked to our gate, and I called Rose to let her know. I told her how bad I wanted to go up and at least ask but didn't want to feel or look stupid. She told me just to take a picture and not to ask. However, being the completely goofy guy I am, I couldn't resist the urge to tempt my fate. I coaxed my friends into going back with me and grabbed this guy that I thought was Gerry Dee while he was waiting for his food for he and his wife and baby. I'm so glad I went with my gut. Here's the result:

YS Middle School Ministry Summit
Tuesday, September 18, 2007
I'm typing to you from a really neat minsitry opportunity. I'm here with my partner in ministry at the Youth Specialties Middle School Ministry Summit. There are 45 of us here, guys and gals, from all over the country. Lots to talk about. We're actually creating the discussion for while we are here to trying answer some of the main topics we feel we're dealing and wrestling with. It's been great so far. Lots of information but even cooler is the connection with so many middle school minding individuals. More to come later. We have a recreation break and we're going to play paintball. I'm hoping to shoot some of the speakers just for the fun of it and being able to say I did it.
Monkey off my back . . . ways to pray!!
Hey everyone, as usual, I'm behind on my posting but this time not without valid reasoning. You see I've had a monkey on my back. Since coming to Nappanee, Rose and I have been renting our house in Mishawaka out until we were able to get some things fixed up and put the house on the market. Well, the Monkey is finally off our backs . . . at least the fixing part. Take and look here and below.
We miss our old house but know this is just another part of an exciting journey that we're on. With the house up on the market we definitely have some ways that we could use some prayer warriors to remember us. Here are a few below:
1. Pray that God would bring the right people to view our house and decide to purchase it.
2. Pray that God's hand and timing would be in it.
3. Pray that with the selling of the house we would get the finances that we need to make the move to Nappanee.
4. Pray that while we are in the waiting mode that finances would not become and issue or strain on us.
5. Pray that God would show Rose and I the house that we need to land in as our new home.
6. Pray that God would help us in the process of purchasing a house and also that He will be in the timing of that process.
7. Pray that in all things we seek God's guidance and timing instead of our own.
We appreciate your prayers in this with us. As you think to pray for us please remember our friends, The Knight family and the Weiss family as they are in similar situations of finding and/or selling a home. Thanks for your support as we look to be finally rid of this monkey that is weighing us down. God bless.
