Why has it been so long?

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Many of you have asked (heckled) me about why it's been so long . . . or why haven't I updated my blog!! Sometimes you've almost pushed me to the point of cussing . . . not really, ok maybe it's true.

In all honesty, here are some of my responses . . .

1. So many other things I need to do with my time I just didn't want to invest the time into this. Call me lazy if you want . . . I call it prioritizing my time.

2. I'm not the best techy in the world and don't know how to change things on my blog that easily. Like the appearance of my blog I'd love to change but just in searching for a new template that I like, I found myself taking hours to search for something I'd really love.

3. Who actually reads this thing???? If you want to prove to me that people actually read this then leave me a comment so I know I'm not just wasting my time.

4. My insecurity comes out in that I really don't feel like I have something of worth that people would want to read or hear about. I admit that I love reading some blogs of other people and seeing what has been going on in their life but haven't really thought that people might want to do the same to mine. Every once in a small while, Chris Lehane may actually say something that people might get excited about or have an ah-ha moment. Even though I've felt like that may not be the case many times over the last year, for the one person that may read this and have those moments . . . this post and the ones that follow are for you.

*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - Jeff Simpson said if I blogged before next Monday he'd pledged his undying loyalty to Notre Dame. Now I dislike Notre Dame but I want to help a teammate of mine out, Jason Thompson, and for all the cracks that Jeff Simpson has made about my blog - well, here's one for you Jeff!!!

Through the looking glass of last year . . .

Well, for all you have been anxiously awaiting to hear from me, all 5 of you, I'm back. I was in a car wreck about a week after this last picture was taken and blog updated. I was in a coma and woke up about a month ago . . . NOT!!!! I'm sure none of you believed that but it was worth a shot. As a Jr. High pastor you've got to try to have a creative mind.
