Take time to read 1 Samuel 16.
This is the story of when David is anointed to be the new king of Israel. When we see David in this story he is in his Jr. High years. He was a small kid. He worked out in the pastures with his family's sheep probably being picked on by his brothers and bullied around to pick up after their sheep. He probably had the stench of sheep all over him. Not the picture of perfection by any means let alone a stand out pick to be the next king.
We see G0d's servant Samuel coming to anoint the new king. He looks at Eliab, David's brother and things that by his appearance (probably tall, handsome and muscular) that he must be God's pick. However we read in verse 7 that God rejected him because "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
What does that statement mean to you?
How does it make you feel that God looks at your heart, who you truly are?
God shows us in this passage that while many thought David was meant for the pastures God knew he was meant for the Palace. He chose to use David when others would have passed him over because they judged him by his appearance. God developed David into an amazing leader, king, warrior and man of God because he allowed God to change and develop him into who God knew He could be. Will you let Him do the same with you?
What do you feel God asking you to do?
What do you hear Him saying to you?
What is He challenging you with?

I think that this exert means that look on the inside of people not just the outside.
The questions really made me think, and the passages hit home.

this really is important... i find myself judging people before i know them a lot. the statement really kinda scares me because i spend all this time worryin bout wat is goin on outside of me and dont really think as much bout the inside. i just need to not judge people and take time to get to know them.. especially people who dont get many friends around them or look left out

You guys are on a great track! So now the question begins to become: "How do I begin to see people on the inside?"
I think the we all at one point in time will judge someone and we will in the future. The whole point is to lessen how much you do it because we aren't perfect.
i think this is saying that we need to get to know people before we judge them.
This means a lot to me, because i know that i judge people all the time, and i try to stop it but i just always hear my friends doing it and it just sticks to me. i will try so much better and try to stop me from judging other people from the outside if i don't know there heart....

There was this one story on judgment in a book. I'll tell it like I was the speaker.
"I was at a picnic, and this freaky guy was walking by me. He was wearing weird clothes, had body piercings, and was... scary. His t-shirt said "Body piercing saved my life." I was like... OK... and I decided to look back at him, I don't know why, and on the back of his t-shirt, it had a picture of Jesus Christ on the cross."
It just goes to show you that we can't always judge people on the outside.

I like that God looks on my heart and knows who I am. I feel that people judge, and they don't really know who I am.
